Are You In The Game?

Are you playing to win, or playing to not lose?

Are you giving your business, family, responsibilities your all? Or are you just giving enough to get by?

Do you start each day with expectancy and anticipation? Or are you starting your day just hoping for the best?

Did you get out of bed with gratitude? Or did you get out on the wrong side of the bed?

Playing to win will put you in the best frame of mind possible. Starting your day with joy and anticipation. Being grateful in even the smallest of things. Seeing challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. Being told it can't be done, and doing it anyway!

Playing to not lose.....well, at least you aren't losing. When getting by is good enough. When you are comfortable where you are. When challenges are those things that you tiptoe around, letting someone else handle.

Are you engaged? In the game? Or are you watching in the stands just keeping score?

The choice is yours.

Why It's Important to Join the Right Sponsor and Team

I was recently contacted on Facebook by a fellow NWM-er who is having some difficulty in her business. Though she is not my recruit, I still feel it's my mission to help people when I can, so, of course, since she's not only a fellow home-based business owner, she's also a 'friend' on FB...and I help the best I can.

I'm always eager to help someone start their new home-based business, particularly when they are joining my business and my team. What frustrates me are the folks that recruit simply to achieve the 'numbers'; they befriend someone online, woo them, and once they sign, they're nowhere to be found. This seems to be the case in the woman who recently contacted me. She's currently been in her business for 2+ years, and isn't doing well. Where's her upline? "...not much help there." is what I got as an answer. The following are some tips and ideas that I shared with her. Maybe, if you are in this boat, you will find them useful as well. If you're looking for a great mentor and a solid team to join, and start your home-based business with, please feel free to contact me.

1. Is your sponsor active? If so, part of their 'duties' as a leader is to support their team. Call them! Maybe they don't know you need some help...? If not, can you roll upwards to the next active leader? Check with company's home office on this for further clarification.

2. When you know a customer has visited your website, did you follow up with a phone call? Can you help them with a fundraiser? A party for a few friends? A housewarming gift? Can they refer a friend who may also love your products? Is looking for a home-based business?

3. Who is your TOP of your upline? They usually have a training system and/or website for their team to model and follow. My UP,UP,Upline has a couple of training sites for us to use. LOVE them! I've gotten great tips from them.

4. Speaking of the UP, UP, Upline, that person should be providing at the very least, weekly training phone calls. If they do, BE ON THEM! Ask questions.

5. Get as involved as you can. Any gifts you give should be from our company's offerings. Any contributions (for a gift basket, raffle) should be something from our company's product line.

I hope some of this can be helpful to you. I have goals and dreams of where I want to be with my business. Write these down for yourself (if you haven't already). Keep them nearby and look at them every morning when you get up, and when you go to bed at night. Just keep doing what your doing, but stretch yourself a little. Makes sense?

Regarding Challenges and Objections

In a recent post on a board I belong to, we were asked how we felt about challenges. Do you freeze, shudder, get sick in your stomach? Or do you get excited, motivated, and full of energy? Following is my little collection of thoughts on the matter.

I see challenges and objections as opportunities to learn and grow. If things would go so smoothly all the time, where would be the adventure? Would we just get content with just floating along on quiet waters? Or would we be made excited to learn how to maneuver different rapids and overcome them? (Can you tell I like to whitewater raft? )

If we didn't accept or deal with challenges, we'd best not be in this type of business. Working for yourself puts you 'out there' amidst a lot of different opinions and thoughts. If you see a challenge or objection as a negative, you won't allow yourself the thrill of learning something new.

TOO many challenges can be exhausting, LOL , but just think how much greater a person, leader, NWM-er you will be!
